More About Us

Hi, we're Matt and Stephanie. We live on a small farm and wanted to find a way to spend more time on our land and working together. So we decided to venture into a small business which combined our artistic talent and desire for sustainability. Matt comes from a family of woodworkers, primarily creating on the lathe that was handed down from his grandfather. Stephanie loves dabbling in all sorts of art, especially painting and reusing materials that might otherwise get thrown away. Together we are Rescued Stories Workshop.

The name of our business came about because of Mizzen, pictured below with her favorite pink stuffed toy. She went from life on the streets to a brief stint in the pokey (animal shelter) to a safe place in our hearts and our home. She would get nestled in bed, wrapped up in her blanket, and ask us to tell the story about her rescue because she didn't want to forget any of the details that brought her into our lives. She was the best girl ever, and we will always have a special place in our heart for her.
